Description
Of a deep garnet color, the Rauzan-Ségla 2011 presents a series of earthy notes at first: truffles, moss-covered bark, mushrooms, and tilled earth, resting upon a core of currant jelly, blackberry pie, and chopped fruit flesh, with hints of sandalwood, new leather, and fallen leaves. Medium-bodied, with a firm line of chewy and slightly rustic tannins, it has a great core of black fruits interwoven with earthy notes, a provocative freshness, and a long finish marked by mineral touches. – Wine Advocate
