Domaine Ogier is one of the most prominent estates in the Rhône, "dynamic and elite," according to Wine Spectator, and specialists in Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu. The plot of old vines in Malleval produces a wine with exceptional maturity, intensity, and mineral balance.

Wine Advocate wrote that Ogier was "undoubtedly among the top estates in the Rhône Valley." The family initially grew apricots, but fortunately switched to grapes, and the quality was such that, until 1982, they sold all their fruit to the prestigious wineries Guigal and Chapoutier. After two harvests in Stellenbosch and some time in Beaune, Stéphane took over from his father in the late 1990s, added 8 hectares to the vineyards (he also owns plots in Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, and Saint-Joseph), and built a modern winery.
