Description
Located in the historical core of the estate, an ancient cherry tree stands among the oldest vines, giving rise to the most expressive Sangiovese of the property. After the harvest, the grapes undergo a prolonged maceration of 40 days with their skins, followed by a maturation period of 36 months in French oak barrels, 80% of which are new.
The wine is captivating and evokes deep sensations, even in a milder vintage like that of 2018: a tapestry of purple plum fruit unfolds, adorned with candied cherries, floral nuances, and a stony consistency, all blended with the succulent texture of smoked pancetta, sweet and salty, so characteristic of this renowned cru.
A vibrant mineral freshness and an elegant presence of oak can be perceived. Bright and clear, it shows a lighter structure than its predecessors, although this does not make it any less complex or lacking in aging potential. From this vintage, 1080 bottles have been produced.
