Description
This blend of several vineyards comes from properties in Serralunga d’Alba and the nearby Roddino, which has the same caliber of white soils. Fermentation takes place in cement, with a shorter maceration to retain fruit purity, aromas, and drinkability. Six months in large Slovenian oak barrels give it a silky and composed sheen. There is a clarity of juicy fruit here, along with high-toned spices and floral perfume. The finish has notes of tart purple fruits and a chalky minerality.
