Founded by Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Chateau Mouton de Rothschild and the renowned vintner Robert Mondavi. The singular aim of the founders was to create an exceptional wine in the heart of Napa Valley. Each acre of our vineyard is meticulously cultivated to produce Opus One. This scrutiny continues during the blending process, and certain lots will not be included in the final blend. However, when these lots are given additional time in barrel, along with the flexibility to blend multiple harvests, the final wine achieves remarkable elegance and complexity.
