True expression of the terroirs of the Rhine basin. On the French side, the estate, cultivated organically, is home to the only blue slate vineyard in Alsace. The vineyards benefit from maximum sunlight and a mosaic of complex soils that add subtleties to the varieties. French Riesling has its roots in soils composed of slate, while German Riesling is grown in granite soils.

"From blue slate soils, aged for 15 months in foudres. Slightly buttery and smoky mineral aromas with delicious golden fruit. On the palate, it shows good density and richness of fruit, but a saline touch in the flavors and acidity gives it a very interesting, pure, and slate-like finish." Tom Cannavan.
